Whether your aim is to fly for fun or to become a career pilot, Private Pilot License (PPL) Ground School is the place to start your flight training. The more ground knowledge you have, the more likely you are to enjoy your flight training and feel confident with what you are doing once you’re in the air. You will also be more likely to develop good flying habits from the get-go! This course provides an important introduction to the theoretical basis of flying and is an inexpensive way of finding out if flight school is for you. Our experienced and talented instructors will instill the confidence you’ll need to feel comfortable in the cockpit once you start flight training.

- Human Factors and Aeromedicine
- Flight operations
In-person Ground School Course Schedule
PPL Ground School is offered twice per year at Vital Aviation, once in the Spring and once in the Fall. Classes are held nightly two days per week over the course of eight weeks.

Online Ground School
Our Online PPL Ground School is offered only to students who are enrolled to fly in Nanaimo with Vital Aviation.
If you are interested in completing your ground school using our Online PPL Ground School, please call our office directly to discuss this with our staff.
Course material is presented online and completion is self-directed and self-paced by the student. Online learning is directly supported by your primary Flight Instructor upon commencement of flight training at Vital Aviation, and all letters of recommendation to write your Transport Canada Exam must be obtained through your Flight Instructor.
